Blog Promotion..
Wednesday, June 27, 2007

A friend of mine, by the name of Josh Soo, recently discovered the wonders of blogs. So, being an extremely zealous fellow, he immediately signed up for a Blogdrive account, and started editing his page.

Go on, go have a look.(click on the picture)

*Josh, actually, putting it here won't really increase your readers, since not many people visit MY page, anyway..haha..

William's.. The New Maison's..
Saturday, June 23, 2007

Since Lynn's plan to surprise Joshua on his birthday couldn't be carried out (Joshua was out the whole day), we decided to have a little get-together at William's, Damansara. It was also good that Ze Xin''s birthday was on the next day, so everything was rather convenient. I was initially a bit worried, when Kwo Kuang called to tell that it was raining over there. When I arrived, however, the rain had stopped, so Kwo Kuang, Chui San and I started scavenging for dry tables. I was peering at chairs (for dry ones) when I heard a voice call out, "Soon Seng!"

Lo and behold! It was Thye Kean, Wei Jin and Harpreet, who introduced me to some new friends, Audrey and Joey. They were already there earlier, and was all too happy to join us later, when the birthday boy had arrived. Slowly, one by one, the others started filtering in, and eventually the number of tables grew. It was when Terence Kam appeared, that Sue Ann said, "Wah. William's can meet so many friends.. Its like Maison's..."

You can see the birthday boy smoking

Sue Ann can move her hand very fast when waving

Wei Jin, Joey, Audrey

Dramatic Arrival (Slightly late =)

C'mon, we know what you're thinking about.. =)

It was sometime about this point when the Birthday Boy title was passed on from Joshua to Ze Xin.

He looks a bit stunned. So does Kohi, in a literal way.

HSP's Take Two (note Sue Ann's unchanging profile)

Before leaving, we had to take that compulsory group photo. (ok, so I made them take the group photo)

...and finally, this marked (probably) the last time I'll see Chui San before she leaves for UK.

Its been fun knowing you more over the past year or so, ever since meeting you for the first time at the circle, and supper at Ibrahim's. From Mr. Potato Chip jokes to Putrajaya, from Thai (Sotong) Soup to Adobe Photoshop lessons, those occasions were very enjoyable. It would have been better if I had known you earlier, but, oh well..

All the best to you over there, Loke Chui San! =) God bless

Subang Wildlife..
Wednesday, June 20, 2007

I had thought that Semenyih had a lot of animals walking around the area, what with the amount of stray (and domesticated) dogs that roamed about, and howled eeriely at 4.14a.m. With snakes and weird insects making their home in our rented bungalows (we didn't take too well to that) it seemed that TTS5 was a haven for wildlife, (think, Night Safari)

Upon coming back to Subang, however, I realized that, in my absence, the amount of cats must have quadrupled. Everywhere I turned, there seems to be cats.

Cat with glowing blue eyes

I was rather happy, when I spotted this little fellow during one of my (short, useless) jogs around the neighbourhood.

Puppy (or, otherwise, small dog)

It didn't take too well to the Ah Pek who was trying to tickle it, so it quickly ran into a clump of bushes to evade me.

I spent 15 minutes attempting to cajole it out.

There went 15 minutes of my life.

Nostalgic Biscuits..
Monday, June 18, 2007

Fong Tien Ming, a primary school friend of mine dropped by my house about 6 years ago, and sold me a packet of biscuits, as part of a Young Entrepreneur contest that he was taking part in, alongside several of his secondary schoolmates (note: Khor Yenli). As it turned out, that particular brand of biscuits was strangely tasty, and I actually went back to him to get more of it.

Sadly, when his contest had ended, so did the supply of biscuits. I never could find that particular type again, and when asked, he wasn't entirely sure if the company even existed anymore.

But, one day, as I was walking around and scavenging for my normal Instant Pasta (San Remo's), I stumbled across this...

It had a slightly different wrapper..

..but, when opened..

Yenli! You remember this, right?!?! (I know you liked it too, back then)

I'll happily munch the rest over the week.

*Editor's Note: This is the 100th post! Woohoo!*

Fear.. What Is It To You?
Saturday, June 16, 2007

    All of us have fears. Call it the heeby-jeebies, or phobia, or natural aversion, there is something that we are all either digusted by, or fearful of. The common set would be the fear of physical entities, i.e. spiders, lizards, snakes, mother-in-laws, and other terrifying objects. Then, we also have the not-so-tangible host of terrors such as rejection, and loneliness. It was during a conversation with Kwo Kuang, however, where we were talking about stuff that he was averse to, when he asked;

"Wei. What are YOU afraid of?"

That got me thinking. I confess to being rather 'geli' with lizards and other creepy crawlies, and perhaps a tad jumpy and edgy after a good ghost story. (I remember not sleeping properly for days after one such movie..hehe.. I was younger then) However, these were just mild annoyances, not full-fledged fears, so I came to a conclusion after much thought.

Here it goes.

My honest confession.

My fear is of....

...large, deep-sea creatures that we have not seen before.

Yes, as strange as it may sound, I feel chilly when I think about the stuff that could be lurking around immensely deep waters. After all, angler fish came from very low depths, and look how horrible they look. Giant squid and whales DO exist, and they are large enough to chomp you up like another piece of cheese. Now, what if, in those depths, there are stranger things, larger things that have never been discovered? (think: Godzilla, Loch Ness Monster, Kraken) I figure, since they're so huge, if ever they catch  me in open waters, I might as well drown myself, since I would have no way of escaping them. Furthermore, being born in the sea would give them an added advantage of speed and manoeuvrability (not many of us can outswim sharks.. I can't outswim a turtle.. or outrun one, for that matter..).

The Semenyih Lake Monster.. My Worst Fear Confirmed

So far, this hasn't crippled, or affected my life in any way, a fact that I am extremely thankful for. However, if I ever DO embark on a cruise, and I see a massively huge form rippling in the waters, I'll probably enjoy the cruise a LOT less.

Sungeiwang and Summit in a Day..
Thursday, June 14, 2007

I met up with Joyce and her Seremban friends at Sungeiwang today. Coincidentally, I was supposed to swing by my office to do some stuff, so everything was rather convenient.

Lunch at KimGary

I have bug eyes

When I came home, Yenli called me to tell me that she had bought tickets for the 9.40p.m. screening of Ocean's 13 at the Summit. Since it was practically in my backyard, I hopped into the Kancil and trundled down to the cinema.

I don't know why we're hunching

After the show

Awww..Chui San and Kwo Kuang

Lynn and I

You may have noticed something weird about the photos. Yes, by request, I have changed Yenli pictures into Keroppi, since she was disinclined to to appear in the photo.

Along those lines, if you want to see the real photo, you'll have to get a password. Haha..

Key in the password to see pic

        Fun times.
