The Great Malaccan Adventure...
Sunday, February 28, 2010

We had been talking about going for a quick weekend getaway, and the opportunity presented itself one fine Friday (public holiday) morning. Kohilan volunteered to drive, and arrived in his trusty Kelisa together with Esther. Soon enough, ZhaoHengandMay arrived with Nicole and Philip, and Carmen was already sitting outside. After a sumptious breakfast, the two cars hit the highway, and we made our merry way to Malacca.

Carmen, May, Philip, and Nicole.

Zhao looks his best in leopard print sunglasses.

In a rather amusing turn of events, Kohilan forgot to fill up on his tank, and opted to turn into the next closest exit: Rembau. Strangely enough, the next closest station was approximately 10km into the little town, and a rather small one at that.

The compliant people in the other car.

Prison-manufactured products.

Esther walking along the river.

The famous chicken rice balls store was packed to the brim...

...so we had to break fast at the store next door...

...which also had chicken rice balls.

Tissue is the new way to go.

Subtle sign from God.

An amazing typo.

Not exactly true.

Kohilan's reaction to people spritzing water into his face.

Prawn noodles.

Look at the hand posture.

3 guys can fit into 1 hole.

The Indian Bogeyman.

I'd be creeped out if I didn't know the crazy Indian man sitting in the small hole.

The ladies do it better.

Philip knows how its done.

Kohilan managed to clamber up the hill, much to the chagrin of the foreign tourists walking above.

The Galah Panjang also made it up the hill.

ZhaoHengandMay supping on Durian Cendol.

My camera batteries subsequently died, hence, no photos were taken after the cendol session. The satay celup queue was pretty short (thankfully), and we managed to boil our sticks of various meats in short order.

The trip home was rather quick, albeit the slight detour we took to Semenyih, and before long, it was good 'ol KL lights again.

     Fun stuff.
